Getting there is becoming less reliable.
This could mean occasional missed days, a pattern around particular days, lateness, or absence that is beginning to grow.
Who pathways supports
Part-time alternative provision for KS3 and KS4 pupils whose attendance or engagement is becoming harder. There is no fixed pupil type and no attendance percentage that decides suitability.

Start with what is changing
A referral does not need to fit a neat story. The pupil may be anxious, frustrated, far behind, difficult to read, full of potential or simply starting to disappear from their usual week.
This could mean occasional missed days, a pattern around particular days, lateness, or absence that is beginning to grow.
The pupil may struggle with lessons, transitions, relationships or particular parts of the day, even while some connection remains.
They may feel behind, overwhelmed or unconvinced that school has anything for them. Their strengths and interests can still offer a starting point.
Uncertainty does not rule a pupil out. It can be the reason to begin a careful conversation about what is changing and what might help.
Think about one pupil
Four short steps explain the relevant parts of the programme as you answer. Nothing here approves or rules out a referral.
Step 1 of 4
This is the one fixed starting requirement for the current pathways programme.
Step 2 of 4
Choose everything that feels relevant. It is fine if the reason is still unclear.
Step 3 of 4
Select the changes that sound useful, not services you are expected to have already arranged.
Step 4 of 4
You do not need an attendance percentage. The direction and what school is noticing are more useful here.
